The Mission of the STC BUNCH is simply to provide a way for players on the
internet who like to play a leisurely and thoughtful game of Chess, the means
and opportunity to meet with and be in the company of others who enjoy slow
chess. It is our goal to support these players through fellowship, friendship,
a comparison ratings service, a monthly newsletter, email exchange, and the
very best available technology deployed to service the membership.
The STC BUNCH, one of the oldest and most highly respected Chess clubs on the
internet, had its beginnings almost a decade ago when StarCapt on ICC
recognized the need and the desire of the players, and began the club with
eighteen members of various playing strength. Over the years, the club has
grown to its present day size of almost one thousand members, and runs the
skill level gamut from International Masters to enthusiastic beginners.
The STC BUNCH originated many of the features which are so common today on the
various chess servers, such as tournaments for slow time control players on
Sundays at Game in 45 with a 5 second increment (G45/5), one game per week
flagship tournaments such as MayMania and the STC BUNCH World Championships,
standard round robin quads and combination knockout and Wild Card Swiss
sectional tournaments.

2012 ICC STC BUNCH CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE:
January STC Bunch Tournament – 4 round Swiss with 60/60 time controls - Starts January 3rd
for players rated over 1700.
Top 10 places move on to Championship in March 2012 STC Bunch Tournament.
Players who are playing in this section MUST JOIN BY JANUARY 2nd.
Latejoin will not be allowed. Message adamredsox to confirm after you join that you will play.
The prizes for the month of January include a 2 month extension of membership at ICC for the
top place and will include a 1 month Random Draw prize.
For each month the following schedule will be followed:
Round 1: 3st through 9th
Round 2: 10th through 16th
Round 3: 17th through 23st
Round 4: 24nd through 29st
February STC Bunch Tournament - 4 round Swiss with 60/60 time controls for players rated 1699
and under. Top 10 places move on to the Championship in March 2012 STC Bunch Tournament.
Players who are playing in this section MUST JOIN BY FEBRUARY 2nd. Latejoin will not be allowed.

The prizes for the month of February include a 2 month extension of membership at ICC and will
include a 1 month Random Draw prize.

Round 1: 2nd through 8th
Round 2: 9th through 15th
Round 3: 16th through 22st
Round 4: 23rd through 27th
March STC Bunch Tournament - 4 Round Swiss with 60/60 time controls for both 1700 and upper
section and 1699 and Under Top 10 place winners from the January and February STC Bunch Tournaments.
Those who qualify from January and February's tourneys must message me, adamredsox, by March 1st
that you will play!! Please also join at the website.
The prizes for each section in March will be a 3 month membership extension for the 1st place
winners.
For each month the following schedule will be followed:
Round 1: 2nd through 7th
Round 2: 8th through 14th
Round 3: 15th through 21st
Round 4: 22nd through 28th
REGISTRATION
It is mandatory that your email and current standard rating data is updated prior to the
beginning of the tournament. After they are both updated, please register by going to
www.stcbunch.net and join the tourney according to your current standard rating.
