Tournament qualifiers for the fundraising simul of Magnus Carlsen:

There will be two 7-round 3 0 rated Swiss tournaments on Saturday, August 9, 5:00 pm server time, and Sunday, August 10, 4:00 pm server time.

The winners of both tournaments will each receive a seat in the simul of Magnus Carlsen

Moreover, the two players who score most points in both tournaments taken together, will also receive seats. If two or more players are tied on overall points, the player with the lowest ICC Blitz rating at start of first qualifier will win. On top of that, in both qualifiers, one seat will be raffled amongst all participants who finish the tournament, giving a total of six seats.

Participation in the tournaments requires a donation of at least 5 chekels. One donation is enough to take part in both tournaments, however, you are invited to donate more.

Once you have purchased chekels: 1. Log into ICC, 2. At the command line type: /c-offer donation 5 (5 being the number of chekels. If you want to donate more, that's OK too!)

You can also send 5 USD via paypal, to ICC@chessclub.com.

After donating 5 or more chekels, you can join with "tell Automato join" when the tournament is open for joining. The tournament channel will be channel 226.

You are also welcome to donate and play in the tournaments, if you cannot take part in the Magnus simul. In that case, please let us know that you cannot play if you win a seat, such that we can award it to the next player. Of course, donations are also welcomed if you do not intend to play in the tournaments at all.

If you donated, your handle will be temporarily put in the group "DusanFund", such that you will be allowed in the tournaments. You can check this at the bottom of your finger notes on ICC. If you show late for a tournament start, but are in the group, you will be able to latejoin until round 4, by using the command "tell Automato latejoin".

All usual tournament rules apply. For tiebreaks, see "tell tomato help tie". No computer assistance is allowed!
