 1: I am Gaute Lindgard (74), a retired pharmaceutical manager, living just
  outside Oslo, Norway.
 2: As a youngster I was quite promising: Norwegian national junior champion in
  1952. Since then I dropped chess totally for 35 years, due to studies and
  career. I have beaten GM Korchnoi and GM Nikolic in simultaneous games and
  was norwegian champion in 5-0 blitz for seniors (>60) in 1998.
 3: With my future well behind I now sit here with my grey beard and poor
  health, playing blunder-chess with great enthusiasm and extremely variable
  quality, but having lots of fun!
