 6: My other hobbies in addition to chess include philosophy, history, cooking,
  gardening, bird-watching, and curling up with a good book.
 7: My USCF rating is 1832 or thereabouts and I have been a "Class A" player
  for many years. Chess is a profound game and has brought me many years of
  pleasant recreation.
 8:  Despite studying chess for many years I have not made significant
  improvement for the last several years due to the astute comment in note 9.
