1: I feel like Rip VanWinkle with insomnia. Having awakened from just a one
year 'nap' I look around, scratch my head and exclaim: 'What the hell
happened to my country?'
2: Sadly, the Conservative movement is in exile to rebuild and recover from
the disastrous liberal policies of 'The Compassionate Conservative' George W.
Bush. Hopefully, a new Reagan-esque Conservative leader will emerge. But I
doubt it.
3: I am hoping Mitt Romney will make a comeback in '12.
4: If B. Husein Ahhbama (aka Rosemary's Baby and the mulatto Marxist pied
piper from Hell, I mean Chicago) and his cabal of socialist czars don't
destroy our national security, economy, armed forces and health care system
in the next 4 years, it will be a miracle. Dear LORD, deliver us from these
bastards!
5: That lunatic ex-peanut farmer and failed president, Jimmy Carter, wiggled
out of his straight jacket, ripped off the duct tape covering his mouth,
wandered from the home in Plains, Georgia and found a microphone again. Then
he called half of us racists for opposing Obama's socialist policies?!
6: Sad news: IM Mark Diesen (1957-2008) suddenly passed away on 9 December
2008. I first met and played Mark at the 1969 Maryland Jr. Championship,
which he won at age 12! We in Maryland
7: watched his rapid progress in chess and were thrilled when he won the 1976
World Junior Championship ahead of Ljubomir Ftacnik!! I saw him last, when
he visited the 1996 US Open. He was always a warm and gentle soul. Rest in
Peace, Mark.
8: Father Time is not a benevolent patriarch. Too linear is life for my
liking.
9: Bush II and now Obama, over the last 5 years, have been making similarly
disastrous decisions as those made by Herbert Hoover and FDR in the 30s.
