I have moved to Austin, Texas, the home of the weird.
Paul Morphy is the greatest player of all time. The argument that he couldn't compete today is silly. He would have improved his play, just as everyone has who has the advantage of modern opening theories.
Chess is a game, and as such it should be played with verve and enthusiasm. When I was young, we used to call the ultra-careful players "bankers." This was an insult. A guy "banked" a pawn and nursed it into a win. I still don't like bankers.
I am from Fresno, California, which is one of the low places of the earth--I mean that psychologically and spiritually. It's the murder, mayhem, and nutso capitol of the world, and I want to live somewhere else.
I am now 70 years old, approaching 71
Don't be silly about stuff, like takebacks or blaming me for taking advantage of the clock. That's why they call it Bullet or Blitz or whatever.
