  more than 20 kids are ranked in top 100 of USA for their age. Five are 2009
  CalChess champions, including both K-12 co-champions and Denker qualifier. My
  students gain an average of 150 USCF rating points annually.

 6: Congratulations to FM Steven Zierk (Zkid) for winning the CalChess Denker
  Qualifier for the second time. He dominated the tournament, scoring 6-0.
  Second place was a pleasant surprise: 6th grader Daniel Liu went 5-1.  Two
  more students tied for third at 4.5: Nicholas Karas and Evan Sandberg.
