Dear college chess community,
It is time for the Third Annual Duncan Oxley Memorial Tournament. The tournament is free with no entry fee. The top finishers will be publicized by the U.S. Chess Federation and ICC.
To register, go to https://www.chessclub.com/activities/CCL.html.
If you are not an ICC member, then you can join ICC by going to the ICC membership page (ICC membership is free during the course of the tournament). After becoming a member, you can return and register for the tournament.
We are fortunate to have Jon Haskel (jon@bocachess.com) back as our TD for the fourth consecutive year. He has directed me to tell you that:
- Registration cut-off is 3 p.m. PST on Friday, October 16.
- Maximum of two 1/2 point byes allowed. Last round byes must be requested prior to the start of the round four games.
- The pairings will be available sometime late on Saturday, October 17 at the College Chess League website www.collegechess.org.
- Go to www.collegechess.org each week to see results posted and the new pairings.
Please forward this email on to others that you know in the college chess community. The annual online college team tournament will begin in at the end of January.
We look forward to seeing you online and having fun this year!
Best regards,
Jim Stallings
Chair, College Chess Committee
You do not have to have a college chess team or college chess club to participate in this tournament. It is an individual tournament. The online team tournament will start in January/February. You do not have to be a member of the USCF to participate. However, if you have a USCF rating it will be used for pairing purposes. Any ICC technical questions should go to Bill Scott (billscotty on ICC). Any TD (tournament director) questions should go to Jon Haskel (sixty4 on ICC).
Computer assistance is not allowed during the games. If you use computer assistance you may be banned from future online tournaments and may be banned from future play on ICC. |
