ICC Dasher 1.4 Release Notes

Release 1.4.1 - Build date: July 4, 2010 / Release date: July 18, 2010

Fixes related to the new pools
- Event icons in Activities window: Added new icons for and/or fixed icons for 3-minute, 15-minute, 45 45, chess960, and 2 12 games

- Fix the game type shown in the Titled Players tab for the new pools

Fixes for "Add a Friend"
- If you did View Profile and then you did Add a Friend it would add you as the friend instead of asking
- If a chat window opened and then you did Add a Friend it would add that person as the friend instead of asking

Installer's detection of Dasher
- Detects if any translated version is running
- Detects Dasher when a splash screen is showing
- Puts the message about closing Dasher in capitals

Other
- Increased the maximum number of tournament rounds supported from 32 to 128
- Updated message from chess variation to chess variant

MenuSpeak
- Adds an "Always show MenuSpeak menu" checkbox in the Player 2 settings

- When turned on, MenuSpeak allows you to quickly send canned chat messages to your opponent or bughouse partner

Other Features
- Supports Cut, Copy, and Paste in web windows via the Edit menu and normal control key shortcuts [855]
- Supports analysis engines in Common ICC Engines directory (where Bobby Junior installs Junior)
- Supports running across a local area network
- Added Window|Organize, which sorts windows into 4 quadrants, with the browser window in the center

- Rearranged menu items (new Account menu)

- The board window is no longer being sent behind the console
- In Windows Vista/7 avoids UAC dialog at startup asking permission to run as Administrator
- Allow more COM ports for DGT board (5-9) to better support USB to serial cables [2242]
- When selecting a game from a PGN file, show indices of games in the list
- Changed "other" in the Games tab of the profile window to say "loser's" or "crazyhouse" instead
- Changed user interface for saving games into libraries so as to support larger libraries in the future
- Can open additional domains in web windows: chessvibes.com, polgarchessuniversity, blog.chess.fm, tomato.chessclub.com
- Prepared internally for future features not yet available on the server

Bug Fixes
- Fixed: When off-line computer game ends, might see an endless series of "Failed to send quit message to engine" messages [2009]
- Fixed: if the window is maximized (but not full screen mode) in Windows 7, then the first menu is too far left and cut off
- Fixed: Joining or observing could crash Dasher [2028]
- Now Whisper & Kibitz remain in the chat menu when an observed game ends and the players enter examine mode
- When selecting a game from a PGN file, select correct game if two identically labeled games in list
- Fixed a brief and unnecessary flipping of the board when following an examined game
- Fixed bug with observing an examined game after the the examiner loads a position and plays one move
- Fixed parsing of message from a tournament bot
- Fixed pawns on the 8th rank in impossible chess positions to act more like the server's definition: a promotion will only be queried for the destination square of a move
- Fixed: After clicking in promotion dialog, but before the dialog went away, the button changed to show a different piece
- Fixed dialog background behind "Protocol:" static text in General Settings dialog

World Chess Live Only
- Added View|My Performance to show rating graphs.
- Added new channels: Chess4Life=342, Tata Group=343
- Replaces Junior purchase system
- Changed location for resetting the password
- Supports removal of childmode variable
